Wanted chronicles a "nation wide man hunt in action" for a criminal on the run. A fascinating old time radio show that gives a history of the crime and a description of the criminal. Included in this program are some of the FBI Top Ten Most Wanted Fugitives.
Almost 40 years before the advent of the popular television show "America's Most Wanted", the radio series Wanted featuring dramatized true stories and interviews with principal law enforcements of wanted fugitives.
Actual witnesses give their testimonials on the radio program. At the time of the broadcast the criminal is still on the run and the listeners are asked to be on the lookout.
One actual crime included in this series includes the murder of Michigan State Senator Warren Hooper who was found dead days before he was to testify about corruption and bribery that existed in the Michigan Legislature. Senator Hooper was killed by the Purple Gang, but was someone higher up involved?
Another criminal chronicled in Wanted includes Fred Tanuto who in one newspaper article was called "impulsive…fond of prize fights, swimming."
Omar August Pinson was the FBI Top Ten Most Wanted Fugitives in 1950. Pinson was wanted for shooting an Oregon State Police Officer. Listen to this history of these crimes and more on Wanted.
