Set in five "races" the contestants had to quickly show their expertise in a number of topics; if they answered the question wrong, they were out of the show – quick as a flash.

The first race was a question on a current news event; the second was musical with a live orchestra performing quick snippets; the third was historical; the fourth was on entertainment or literature. The fifth "race" of the show consisted of "Sponsor's Handicap" which featured top stars from Dangerously Yours, Bulldog Drummond, Mr. Keen, Counterspy and many more.
