First sponsored by the US Army and Airforce, this 1948 short-lived remake of Easy Aces features the comedic favorites couple, Ace and Jane in a new thirty-minute sitcom format.
Ace is now an advertising "idea man" (formally real estate) while Jane is the same kooky character (much like on Gracie Allen). Ace has a new cliche spewing advertising boss is Mr Norris (Eric Dressler) and Jane's useless brother, Johnny, was replaced by Paul (Leon Janney). The announcer is Ken Roberts (who originally played the orphan Cokie in Easy Aces.)
Although some episode plots ideas are borrowed from Easy Aces, the writing remains fresh and full of laughs.
Goodman Ace went on to write for The Big Show with Tallulah Bankhead and other radio programs and later television programs including Milton Berle, Bob Hope and Perry Como.
