    In Monterey there’s a story that Bing was playing golf at a local course, (not Pebble Beach,) when he hit a hole-in-one on an early hole. Golf etiquette demands that you buy a round of drinks for everyone when you get back to the clubhouse. The news reached the clubhouse almost immediately. Since it was Bing, someone decided to secretly call every member of the club and tell them to come to the clubhouse quickly for a free drink. By the time Bing’s round of golf was over the clubhouse was packed, and he bought drinks for every one who showed up!
