Western Drama (1954 - 55)

"The gun-toting frontier doctor who roamed the length and breadth of the old Indian territory,
friend and physician to white man and Indian alike, the symbol of justice and mercy in
the lawless west of the 1870s. This legendary figure was known to all as Dr. Six Gun."

Ray Matson, aka Dr Six-Gun Karl Weber starred as Dr. Ray Matson as the gun-carrying, wandering doctor known far and wide as Dr. Sixgun. Dr. Sixgun's story was told through the doctor's perpetually inebriated companion, Pablo, played by Bill Griffis. The show unfortunately had a short run for just one season beginning in 1954.

Dr. Six Gun was based in a fictional western town called Frenchman's Ford in 1870s, but he traveled the entire Indian territory helping everyone from white settlers to Indian Braves. Along with sidekick Pablo, the show also included a gypsy with a pet raven.

Dr. Matson helped people where he could whether it was with medicine, a friendly ear, or with a gun.

    Just remember that Dr. Sixgun's friend's raven's name was Midnight. The opening music was mint, that seems like a good name for a talking Raven.

    Fantastic show! Karl Weber is great in the lead role of Doc Sixgun.Well acted and decent writing.Anyone who has heard the series will notice there are several guest appearances from the late,great and gone-too-soon voice actor/actor Wendell Holmes.Most probably remember him best from X-1 and Dimension X' on radio or from his several guest parts on 'Leave It To Beaver' on TV - definitely underrated.Dr. Sixgun' was an underrated,enjoyable and unfortunately short-lived series.
