Big Band Spotlight

When a Big Band record comes on the air, a modern ear will initially begin to think about the images of the late 30's and the War years. Black and white scenes from old dance-hall movies may even play in the minds eye. It doesn't take long for the horns to take over, and soon you are lost in the innocent sensuality of the vocalists.

This small collection of British episodes features a few of the great vocalists from the era, including the Clooney Sisters with the Tony Pastor Orchestra when the duo was just starting out, and before Rosemary went on to lasting fame. The great Peggy Lee is featured in a few episodes, along with Helen Forrest, Bea Wain, and Kay Starr.
