Riding the coattails of the novel turned 1948 hit movie, Mr. Blandings Builds His Dream House, Mr. and Mrs. Blandings leaves us rolling. Cary Grant and Betsy Drake, who were married in real life, star as Jim and Muriel Blandings.

After leaving the city to build his dream home in the country, all sorts of problems and misunderstandings take place. Water lines bust, roofs cave in, and arguments abound. Gale Gordon and Sheldon Leonard also appear in the program.

    I thought Mr. and Mrs. Blandings was a one shot deal with Cary Grant and then wife Betsy Drake, but to my surprise there was an additional season that starred Robert Cummings and Jane Wyatt!.....I just listened to one

    Looked it up. This was an audition for a proposed second season of the show, which never happened. It originally aired on August 25, 1951. I liked it. I thought Cummings was pretty good, but no Grant. And Jane just seemed generic.

    I didn;t know Mr. Blandings was anything more than the one movie "Mr. Blandings Builds His Dream House" with Cary Grant and Myrna Loy!
