Battle Stations was a program created by the United States Navy during WWII. It was a series of four programs, each with different goals. The first two programs were created to "report to people of the United States on the progress of its navy in the war being fought in five oceans."
The second two programs were dedicated to tell the "accomplishments, history and hopes of the US Navy." All Battle Stations programs were presented dramatically and were both educational and entertaining.
For more well-done military-sponsored music programs, see also the jazzy series of The Navy Swings and the Air Force recruitment show, A Serenade in Blue. Additional military music programs include:Lets Go To Town, At Ease, Guard Sessions, Battle Stations, Theater of Hits, Join the Navy, and US Navy Shows.
